U.S. singer Beyonce razed on Thursday in Berlin in the MTV Europe Music Awards 2009, which won three awards and made no award for Shakira, with whom he competed in two categories.
Beyonce also topped another music diva, Lady Gaga, which despite its five nominations, could only rise to the Breakthrough Artist award, since the Tonys for best female artist, best video and best song fell on the former member of Destiny’s Child.
Rapper Eminem, who thanked his award in a video message, won the best male artist category rivals as Robbie Williams, Mika, Kanye West and Jay-Z. The latter, meanwhile, won the award for best urban artist.
The Irish band U2, which took hours before the Brandenburg Gate in a mass concert, just four days before the holding of the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Wall, won the award for best live the year.
Tokio Hotel The Germans won in the category of Best Group and Green Day won the award for best rock group.
Among the big losers of the night featured the American band Kings of Leon, despite starting as favorites, like Lady Gaga, with five nominations, were left without reward.
The only Spanish-Award nominated band We Are Standard on the category of best European group saw the award-lay with the Turkish band sleeve.
